As the culture of ‘work from home’ becomes the new norm for the corporate world, and private-sector organisations help to play their part to curtail the spread of COVID-19, financial conglomerate Sagicor Group Jamaica, last Friday, March 27, treated its team members and online social-media followers to its first ‘online retro’ party. With popular disc jockeys Narity and Copper Cyclone at the turntables, the company’s live stream on its Instagram platform @sagicorja had thousands tuned in from all over the world. The online party was also streamed on mixlr.com, and as a good corporate citizen, Sagicor also utilised the platform to raise funds to donate to The Golden Age Home Cluster 8. Listeners and viewers were able to make a contribution to request a special song from the deejays using their MyCash card. Sticking to the social-distancing protocols, a few Sagicor team members stopped by the deejay hub, stationed at Sagicor Bank Dominica Drive, for some ‘live’ action.
