A Norwegian runner has unofficially broken a world record for running a half marathon barefoot in the snow.
Jonas Felde Sevaldrud revealed that he was keen to make a record attempt after his early attempts at running on the ice weren't as difficult as he envisaged.
Sevaldrud admits that he was hoping to "smash" Dutch athlete Wim Hof's previous record of two hours and 16 minutes and chronicled his quest on YouTube.
He had to abandon his first attempt prematurely when sharp ice caused injuries to his feet, but he tried again the following week on softer snow and was far more successful.
Sevaldrud recorded a time of one hour, 44 minutes and 38 seconds and is now waiting to hear back from Guinness to see if he will be confirmed in the record books.
