A connoisseur of the art of preparing mixed drinks, mixologist Nicolina Diabo put a flavourful twist on the traditional spritzer, which is normally made with white wine and carbonated or sparkling mineral water.
Her modified spritzer has been in the works for years. “Sometimes I just sit and think about what products would pair nicely with each other and then try it out. That’s how I get inspired to mix, but my inspiration for this drink goes way back to when I was in college and majored in food and beverage while studying hospitality. One of the productions that my team and I had to work on was a spritzer,” she explained.
The expert believes that the bold flavours of the her watermelon spritzer make it an excellent starter option for your next happy hour. “If you’re looking for a yummy drink, this is the one for you. It’s a go-to drink, especially for persons who love watermelon,” Diabo said. She shares her recipe below.
