Jamaica College’s (JC) Javier Brown, the new 400m hurdles class one record holder, completed the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships double, winning the Class One 400m title in a time of 45.75 seconds on Saturday morning.
Calabar High School’s Jeremy Bembridge was second in 45.94s while Tahj Hamm of Holmwood Technical High School finished third in 46.22s.
Rusea’s High School's Aalliyah Francis won the girls' equivalent in 52.51s. Garriel White of Hydel High School, who won the girls 400m hurdles title yesterday took silver in 52.77s while Vere Technical High School’s Annalee Robinson came third in 53.35s.
JC's Mark Anthony Miller cruised to victory in the Class Two Boys final in 47.35s. Calabar’s Mark Manley finished second in 48.11s while Ferncourt High School's Derrick Grant was third in 48.15s.
Dejanea Oakley of Clarendon College had to dig deep in the final 10 meters to hold off the challenge of Hydel’s Oneika McAnnuff to win the Class Two Girls title in 52.51s. McAnnuff finished in 52.54 seconds for silver and her teammate Alliah Baker was third in 54.35s.
Kingston College completed a one-three finish in the Class Three event as Jordan Taylor took gold in 50.17s. His teammate Shavaughn Brown earned bronze in 50.94s but Zachary Wallace of Maggotty High School was second in 50.33s.
Ferncourt’s Abigail Campbell won Class Three in 54.86s. Vere’s Shevaughn Thomas was second in 55.96 and Kitania Headley of St Catherine High School finished third in 56.08s.
