Delroy Allen: “My favourite moment of the Olympics is when Deon Hemmings won in 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia, beating Kim Batten in the 400m hurdles. That was a joyful moment for me, to know that Deon Hemmings is the first Jamaican woman to win Olympic gold.”
Christopher Roberts: “Beijing in 2008, when [Usain] Bolt broke the record in the 100 and 200m. I can’t recall a next Olympics as nice as that one. [The year] 2008 was a joy to everyone around the Corporate Area.”
Prince Toppy: “My best Olympic moment of all time is when Jamaica won the gold, the silver, and bronze in the 200m [at London 2012] with Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, and Warren Weir. I have never seen that happen before. I enjoyed that Olympic year, to see my country take that gold, silver, and bronze in the 200m.”
Omar Latchman: “When Usain Bolt broke the record and win the gold medal, everybody was happy in Jamaica and we came together; and that was something that you can’t forget.”
Kenisha Smith: “Is when Usain Bolt win the Olympic [gold medal] in Beijing. We jumped for joy and were full of excitement and we were like, ‘Go Usain, go Usain!’.”
