Jamaica finished 30th in the 2-man bobsleigh at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China on Tuesday.
The team of pilot Shanwayne Stephens and brakeman Nimroy Turgott completed their third heat in a time of 1:01:54 minutes which was not fast enough to make the top 20, who will compete in the fourth and final round, later this morning at 8:40 (Jamaica time). The Jamaican team had a combined time of 3:04:12 minutes.
After three rounds, Germany occupies all the medal positions with the team of Francecso Friedrich (pilot) and Thorsten Margis (brakeman) leading the way with a combined time of 2:57:37 minutes, followed by Johannes Lochner (pilot) and Florian Bauer (brakeman) with a time of 2:57:85 minutes and Christoph Hafer (pilot) and Matthias Sommer (brakeman) in third with a time of 2:58:88 minutes.
Jamaica will now begin preparations for the four-man bobsled event as their first official training heat will begin tonight at 8:40 (Jamaica time). They will start competition on Friday night at 8:30 (Jamaica time).
