Just over 30 individuals expanded their proficiency with the Microsoft Excel software during a four-day training seminar staged by the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) last week.
The registrants, who represented a dozen companies across various industries and other Caribbean territories, were facilitated by the Management Institute for National Development, which also certified their participation in the 12-hour virtual course from Tuesday, March 29, to Friday, April 1.
The introductory course was delivered through a combination of presentations, discussions, lecturettes and case studies, with emphasis placed on a collaborative and practical approach to enhance their job functions. It also included a workbook to prepare participants to use formulae and functions in Excel.
Included in the topics covered were creating and managing worksheets, calculations, sorting data, and working with charts.
The facilitator, Gary Campbell, is an information and communications technology (ICT) professional with almost two decades of experience in the industry, and has conducted extensive work in the areas of ICT strategy and project management.
