OLYMPIC Games double sprint champion, Elaine Thompson Herah, is one of eight Jamaicans who will be in action today at the 2022 USATF Golden Games at the Mt Sac Relays in Walnut, California.
In what is the second stop in the 2022 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meet, Thompson Herah will line up in the women’s 100 metres where she will be joined by fellow Jamaican Briana Williams in the event. Also down for the women’s 100m are Olympic 200m bronze medallist Gabby Thomas and Olympic 100m finalist Teahna Daniels of the United States. Daniels won the 100m at the USATF Bermuda Games last weekend.
Three other sprinters from that race are also in this field, including Olympic teammate Javianne Oliver, USA’s Twanisha Terry, and Aleia Hobbs, who ran 11.06 earlier this month.
Olympic Games 110m hurdler, Damion Thomas, will be the only other Jamaican in action on the track, as most Jamaicans will be competing in field events.
Four females and one male will be involved in field events. Danniel Thomas Dodd and Lloydricia Cameron will see action in the women’s shot put, Kimberly Williamson will be involved in the women’s high jump, and Ackelia Smith in the triple jump. Ryan Brown will compete in the men’s long jump.
