New national 800m record holder Navasky Anderson progressed to the final of the Men's 800m with the fastest time in the field at the National Stadium at the JAAA National Senior and Junior Championships this evening.
Anderson, who competes for Mississippi State University, clocked 1:48.24 minutes for victory in his first-round heat. Tarees Rhoden of Clemson University advanced with the second-fastest time, 1:48.42, while Carfita Under-20 Champion J'Voughnn Blake clocked 1:48.61, the third fastest time in the field.
The other finalists consist of Kimar Farquharson, Tyrese Ried, Brandon Kerr, Dugion Blackman and defending national champion, Chevonne Hall.
The final is set for this Sunday.
