Two first-half goals set the pace for five-time Jamaica Premier League (JPL) champions Tivoli Gardens as they easily dispatched newcomers Chapleton Maroons 3-0 at Stadium East today.
Keno Simpson's 16th-minute strike opened the account for the Jermaine ‘Teddy’ Johnson-coached Tivoli, while strikes in the 23rd minute by Diego Mckenzie and 58th minute by Anthony Nelson, made light work of the Lenworth ‘Teacher’ Hyde-coached Chapelton Maroons.
It was Tivoli’s first victory of the new season, as they drew 1-1 with Vere on the opening day.
Chapleton Maroons were suffering their second defeat in as many games, after going down 2-0 to defending champions, Harbour View in their opening assignment.
