Arnett Gardens defeated Mount Pleasant 3-2 in their Jamaica Premier League (JPL) game this evening at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Fabien Reid opened the scoring in the 26th minute and Damari Deacon added another three minutes into first-half added time, to double their lead. Trivante Stewart reduced the deficit to one in the 50th minute but Ajuma Johnson restored their two-goal advantage in the 57th minute.
Arnett had to see out the game with 10 men as Rushike Nelson was given a straight red in the 70th minute for violent conduct.
Stewart cut the lead to one once more, three minutes into second half added time, but Mount Pleasant failed to complete the comeback.
Arnett Gardens vaulted to third place in the points standing with 17, three away from Mount Pleasant, who remain in first position with 20 points but see their unbeaten streak end.
