Edwin Allen’s Delano Kennedy won the Class One boys’ 400 metres at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boy and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium tonight.
Kennedy found a new gear in the final 50 metres to cross the tape in 45.27 seconds, to finish ahead of Jamaica College’s (JC) Malique Smith-Band who did 45.77 and St. Elizabeth Technical’s (STETHS) Jasauna Dennis with 45.87.
In the final of the Class Two boys’ 400 metres, Kingston College’s (KC) Tahj-Marques White produced a new personal best to capture the gold medal, as he crossed the tape in 47.73 seconds with JC’s Omary Robinson also doing a new personal best of 48.49 with Calabar’s Nickecoy Bramwell copping the bronze in 48.88.
In the Class Three boys’ final, Calabar’s Christopher Ellis produced a splendid effort to capture the gold medal with 50.49 seconds, as the KC pair of Jordan Rehedul in 50.67 and Eshanee Porter in 50.69 had to settle for the silver and bronze medal respectively.
