The 2023 staging of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association’s National Junior and Senior Table Tennis Championships will take place from today until Sunday at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
The event will commence at 9 a.m. daily and it promises to be an exciting and entertaining affair with in excess of 270 entries across events. Several overseas-based Jamaican players will be on show as they look to win the coveted title and be crowned ‘National Champion’.
Kane Watson is the reigning Men’s Open Champion and Solesha Young is the reigning Women’s Open Champion.
Six male players will be participating in the upcoming Caribbean Region Table Tennis Federation Mini & Pre-cadet Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominica Republic next week and they will use this event to fine-tune their preparations.
The sponsors of the event are the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport; Independence Park Limited; Lasco Distributors Limited; Optical Solutions International Limited; Tastee Jamaica Limited; Hector Bennett (past player); Klao Lewis (parent); Mailpac Group Limited; Western Sports Limited and Vision Marketing Solutions.
There will be an admission fee of $400 per day. A season band (for three days) will cost $1,000.
