Shawn Baptiste, founder and CEO for CIGA Records, says he and his team are in full support of their client Beenie Man, whose given name is Moses Davis, and his recent engagement to businesswoman Camille Lee.
In a conversation with The Gleaner, the St Croix native expressed his joy following the announcement.
“I am so glad he is in his space and happy with who he is with. And I’m gonna support him 110 per cent. If that’s the woman he choose for his life, then that person is a part of our team, a part of our family,” Baptiste said.
The King of the Dancehall sent shockwaves around social media after he posted a video of the proposal to his official Instagram on Thursday night. “23 years in the making, but finally found my forever with Camille,” he wrote in the caption.
Despite talks over the timing, and the other love interests the entertainer has had over the years, Baptiste says no one knows what’s in Beenie’s heart but Beenie.
“That’s is who is choose, and that’s just how it set at the end of the day. Only he knows what’s in his heart and all we can [do] is support him in his happiest moments.”
While the world waits patiently for the nuptials, Beenie and CIGA will be hard at work “setting things right”.
“We have so much things going forward in the making. Next week Wednesday he is going to launch his clothing line ‘Caribbean Boyz’. So we are trying to fry some bigger fish at this moment,” Baptiste said.
CIGA Records has been the management team for Beenie Man following a switch earlier last year, and Baptiste wants to make that clear.
“CIGA Records is and has been the management team for Beenie for the last eight months. Beenie man business now is a straight-forward operation, and we are not going to stain the man name for nothing,” he said.
