The Issa Trust Foundation is intensifying its efforts to make a health centre for children in Richmond, St Ann, a reality. In this regard, the foundation is staging its second fundraising gala in New York City on Saturday, May 11, at the posh East Side Manhattan venue, Cipriani on East 42nd Street.
The announcement was made by Paul Issa, chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation.
The ritzy dinner and dance extravaganza will generate additional funds to bring the Mary Issa Paediatric and Adolescent Health Centre into operation. When the badly needed health centre opens, it is expected to provide expertise in critical areas such as cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, oncology and mental health support. Vision screening will be offered along with free glasses, if needed.
“We are looking forward to our second ‘For The Children’ Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street with goodwill ambassadors Third World as headline performers. Additional acts will be announced later. The funds raised will go to the operational expenses of the St Ann facility,” Issa stated.
In 2022, the Issa Trust Foundation raised US$417,000 from the inaugural charity gala at Sony Hall in New York City.
“Healthy children are the foundation of a thriving society. Investing in their health today ensures a brighter, more prosperous future,” shared Diane Pollard, president & CEO of the Issa Trust Foundation.
“Our facility will specifically cater to children and young people, offering paediatric healthcare and adolescent services to the youth of the Ocho Rios general area and western St Mary, with a holistic approach that considers not only the physical, but the mental and social support for our young people,” Pollard added.
