“Powww!! This was the only sound I could recall — the one that broke the silence of that dreadful night. Although the sound could easily be mistaken for that of a vehicle wheel being blown out, I instantly knew it was the impact of a gunshot, and I somehow knew he was the one it had hit.”
In Hell With God was written from a place of pain, loss, and the complete belief that I (the author) was at the end of myself. After the brutal murder of my other half and the sudden realisation that me and my son were thrown into a life that became unrecognisable to us, and the fact that we had to find a way to move on without the man that we both saw as our only source of protection, this book was written, and its intent is to share with those who have found themselves in similar situations how we managed to live to tell and the strategies God had to use to pull us from a place we saw as our final destination.
On this journey of life, we must all take into consideration the fact that loss is a road all of us will experience at some point in our lives, as no situation is unique to any of us. This book is an inspiring journey of restoration, faith, and hope. Even after trials faced, you will see that the hand of God is always with us, especially in the moments when we can see no way out and see our situation as dire.
It is important for all to know that life will always throw us curveballs, but what is most important is how we align ourselves for the catch. One must never forget that we must strive to find the beautiful message that is hidden in our circumstances and, at times, buried very deeply within.
Some snippets from In Hell With God:
Page 13: I appeal to those who have taken an oath to uphold the law. Those who have vowed to look out for the defenceless. It seems today the law does not work for those it was really created for, nor for those in desperate need of protection. I can honestly say that I, like so many others, have been a victim of the law’s shortcomings, nonchalant behaviour, and blatant lack of empathy.
Page 14: “Can you imagine hearing the fatal shot that that tool took the life of the one you cared about?”
“Can you imagine what it feels like when you are told there is something that can be done to arrest and bring to justice those that are responsible for snatching the life of the one you hold dear?”
