The Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine will be closed tomorrow, July 19, to vehicular traffic. The closure, which will be between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., is to facilitate the replacement of downed Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo) transmission poles.
According to the National Works Agency (NWA), the closure of the roadway is necessary as JPS will be using large equipment to effect the works.
“The presence of the equipment will restrict and affect the flow of traffic. The urgent restoration of the line is critical to ensure security of electricity supply to over 100 thousand JPSCo customers,” NWA said in a press release.
Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes such as Sligoville, Red Hills or Barry during the period of closure.
