THE EDITOR, Madam:
It is sad that schools are still demanding that our children’s hair should be no more than two centimetres high and there should be no afro or dreadlocks hairstyles.
We are no longer in the days of slavery or colonialism and the recent court ruling on dreadlocks should have alerted schools that their archaic rules are no longer applicable.
It is high time that the Ministry of Education issue rules for all schools to abide by which simply state that hair should be properly groomed and clean.
Let us stop the stupidity being presented to parents and students as “rules by each school”.
