With a more determined outlook this season, national shot put champion and record holder Rajindra Campbell is more ambitious about his goals, looking to secure Jamaica’s first Olympic medal in the shot put.
Campbell broke through last season when he made his first world championship team last year qualifying with a distance of 22.22m. That broke the national record and also made the Olympic standard, booking his ticket to Paris with a year to spare. He would go on to make the final on his first attempt but failed to register a mark in that round. With new heights set for himself this year, Campbell is currently tied for sixth best in the world this year with 22.16 and is eager to not only return to a major global final but push the major contenders all the way.
