We all desire an easy and smooth life, but it often feels like even small tasks are challenging and require a lot of effort. Why is that?
The concept of ‘easiness’ isn’t about having a life free of challenges but rather about one’s attitude. A person with a simplified mindset can make things seem easy and straightforward. In contrast, a complex mind tends to complicate simple scenes of life and magnify challenges. Essentially, the way we perceive and approach life shapes our experience of it.
– Embrace what life provides: One of the simplest ways to ease your mindset is by accepting things as they are - aligning your mind with the bigger picture of life and setting aside personal desires that result in anxiety and restlessness.
Sometimes, what we want is minor compared to the bigger plans in place for us. Knowing and trusting that these plans are beneficial, even if not immediately clear, can ease mental strain. By believing that nothing truly harmful will come our way and that everything has a purpose, we can more readily accept life’s ups and downs without resisting them.
– Be a seeker of solutions: Often our life doesn’t have any problems but a mindset of overthinking about the future or anticipating problems highlights small scenes of life and we end up making problems for ourselves. Instead of overthinking and dwelling on problems, we need to train ourselves to use our mental energy to find solutions to problems.
Problems seem bigger when we’re too close to them, like how a scratch on your car feels like a big problem or how mountains appear huge when you see them from the ground, but they seem much smaller when you’re flying in a plane. Adopting a broader perspective and viewing life from a height helps us see problems as smaller and easier to deal with. By focusing on solutions rather than problems, we can make life simpler and easier.
No one’s life is entirely easy. Everyone faces their own set of challenges. Just because we can’t see others’ difficulties, we feel our problems are bigger than others’ and our life is most challenging. Instead of focusing on our problems, we should train ourselves to seek solutions. This approach can make life feel lighter, simpler, and more positive.
Easiness is not a ready-to-serve dish on the menu of life to order, rather it is a trait we all possess; it’s just a matter of practising it more. By adopting a simpler mindset, we can lead a more relaxed and fulfilling life. Embrace simplicity and positivity and watch how your life transforms.
