Excitement and tensions were at an all-time high inside Television Jamaica's studios tonight during the penultimate episode of 'Digicel Rising Stars’.
As the dust settled, Ashanique Watson emerged as this year’s third-place winner.
It's a bitter-sweet moment for the talented singer, as she misses out on the finals, but walks away with $400,000 cash and other prizes.
"I did foresee myself in the Top 2 because I campaigned really hard," Watson told Chill Room Host Sanjay. "But yeah, everybody [has] been talking about the voting machine. You kinda have to be realistic as well. And be prepared for anything."
This isn't the last we've seen of the powerful singer who says she is looking forward to further pursing her music career.
"Definitely plunging into the music. This has been such a rewarding experience that I am not going to stop now, so it is full speed ahead," she said.
Watson leaves behind Akeen Fennell and Renecia Bernard who will battle it out for the popular competition's top spot.
The final will air on October 6.
