Large boulders are now blocking a section of the Junction main road in St Andrew.
The boulders are a part of a massive landslide which occurred this morning.
This has left the roadway at Toms River impassable.
A part of the hillside came tumbling down, bringing in its path boulders, down trees, dirt, and other debris, which are now blocking the main thoroughfare into St Andrew and St Mary.
Several days of persistent heavy rains have been wreaking havoc on residents and motorists along the Junction main from St Mary leading into the neighbouring parish of St Andrew, thus restricting their movement.
Just yesterday, work crews from the National Works Agency (NWA) were able to clear sections of Broadgate and Friendship Gap in St Mary, which were blocked on Wednesday, to accommodate single-lane traffic amid the heavy rainfall.
Heavy rains since last Friday have been pounding sections of South East St Mary, resulting in multiple land slippages in several communities including a section of George Hope and Top Leinster, which are currently undergoing major cleaning up by a work crew.
