After more than two decades leading the Jamaica Stock Exchange, Dr Marlene Street Forrest will be retiring on December 4, the Financial Gleaner has learned.
However, she is expected to remain in charge of the exchange beyond her retirement date until a replacement is found.
The recruitment of a replacement is said to be under way.
Street Forrest was appointed to lead the JSE in 2002, serving as general manager until 2017, when she was promoted to managing director and subsequently granted a seat on the board of directors.
Under her tenure, the Jamaica Stock Exchange was twice designated the best performing stock market in the world in 2015 and 2018.
Advertisements are expected to start running right away for a replacement, allowing aspirants a two-week window to apply for the position of chief executive officer of the JSE.
This story will be updated as more details become available.
