Savouring a symphony of flavours all under one roof is a food lover’s fantasy. And now, it is an exquisite reality, courtesy of VODA Lounge owners Rashede and Debra Denniston. The couple have taken their travel experiences and expanded their food portfolio, providing a new tasteful dining experience to awaken all of the senses. Centrally located in the heart of the city, let’s say hello to Fusion Multicultural Cuisine.
If you are a fan of oxtail, then chances are you will enjoy the Fusion oxtail rolls or the Fusion ramen with oxtail. Lobster lovers can indulge in the creamy mac and cheese. Lamb lovers, you’re also in luck: the Italian herb-crusted lamb chops will have you asking for seconds. There’s the signature burger, made with love with the in-house beef patty and original sauce.
“Our staff, particularly our chefs, have a genuine love and passion for food. So giving them that latitude to create and build on what we give them, it created a really good fusion,” Rashede told Food.
And one of the restaurant’s exciting features is the Hibachi dining experience. This Japanese style of live cooking is not a common feasting activity in Kingston, but it is guaranteed to work up an appetite and satisfy it at the same time.
“After travelling and seeing different cultures, we wanted to present a melting pot of flavour and blend them together so that persons can get different cuisines in one place. Currently, we have Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Asian, Mexican, American and Jamaican dishes on our menu,” Debra explained.
With a reputable restaurant in Portmore on the food portfolio, the couple always had their sights set on exploring the culinary market in Kingston. So, once the opportunity and space became available, they jumped right at it, taking a total of 60 days to bring this dream to fruition. This time around, the dynamic duo partnered with entrepreneur Andrew Chow to create this one-of-a-kind dining experience.
Fusion Multicultural Cuisine officially opened its doors on November 30, and the Dennistons were thrilled that people were making reservations before the Saturday night unveiling. Since then, the restaurant has received rave reviews for its enchanting décor and enticing dishes. “We want to establish a strong brand and show that you don’t have to be one of the international chains to produce good quality meals. The local mom-and-pop shops can do the same. We’re elevating taste and customer service. For us, it’s about the overall package. So come and experience a difference in dining for yourself,” Rashede shared.
