Zan Hyde is no ordinary model. The Pulse star is equally comfortable in front of the camera as she is perusing legal journals at the University of Florida, where she is reading for a law degree. Earlier this year, Hyde was selected to be the face of the Paris fashion brand Tressé, which gave her the chance to get back to her roots and play dress-up right at home.
In the stunning shoot, Hyde shows off Tressé’s “Jamaica Suitcase” in what the brand calls an “ode to Jamaica, the Jewel of the Caribbean, land of passion and shimmering colours”.
“It was wonderful to be back home and shoot in these great locations and share the frames with ordinary Jamaicans, off the beaten path. I loved the clothes, the styling, and the physicality of the shoot,” said a radiant Zan while on set for Pulse’s Caribbean Model Search (CMS) TV show.
Romae Gordon, Pulse’s managing director of fashion and lifestyle, identified Hyde’s exceptional qualities during the CMS TV series. “Zan was a fierce competitor who won most of the photo challenges. She is smart, disciplined and bold about her ambitions, great qualities for success,” says Gordon.
Hyde won second place in the model TV series in 2019. She was topped by fellow Pulse star Shantae Leslie. However, Hyde has expertly juggled higher education and international modelling. Shuttling between London and Miami, she has scored editorials, including Harper’s Bazaar, and made major appearances for top fashion houses, including Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Rick Owens.
The supertalented Hyde goes into her second year of law school after graduating from Howard University with s umma cum laude honours for a degree in political science and theatre arts. The Pulse star is represented by Wilhelmina in Miami and London.
