JGRA still waiting on bad gas report

The Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA) says it is anxious for the public release of the report into the bad gas saga.

The report was due to be published on February 23.

However, the general election and now the change in government have seemingly affected the release of the document.

JGRA president Leonard Green says the report has been submitted to the Permanent Secretary in the energy ministry.

However, he says the authorities are waiting until a new minister is appointed before releasing the document.

The outgoing energy minister, Phillip Paulwell had set up a committee to look into the bad gas saga.

The report was initially to be submitted by January 31, but the committee requested an extension.

Motorists have reported various problems with their vehicles after allegedly buying poor quality gasolene from retailers.
