The Toronto Trader is Crowley Maritime's first vessel to call on Jamaica in more than 16 years. The brand new ship, with a capacity of 1102 TEUs, called at Kingston Wharves Limited (KWL) last week in its maiden voyage to Jamaica.

KWL CEO, Grantley Stephenson, said, "This development is important in Jamaica's continued thrust to expand its capacity and connectivity as a regional trans-shipment hub for North America and the Caribbean region."

Harry Maragh, managing director of Lannaman and Morris, (agents for Seafreight, A Crowley Company) spoke of the environmental attributes of the ship, which is among the most fuel efficient, tbecause of its reduced carbon emissions.
