Portland police routinely searching students

The Portland Police say they have started the routine searching students for guns based on intelligence that some of them are carrying offensive weapons.
The Commanding Officer for the Portland division, Dwayne Wellington, says the police have also increased patrols in areas identified as trouble spots, including the bus park where a man was fatally stabbed recently.
Four high school boys have been charged with the stabbing death of the man in Port Antonio.
Their names have been withheld, as they are minors.
They are to return to court on May 25.
The four were offered bail in the sum of $80,000 each after making their first court appearance on March 3.
The boys, aged 16 and 17 years, allegedly attacked, beat, and stabbed 20-year-old Kerone Dixon near the bus park on Foreshore Road in Port Antonio, shortly before 5:30 p.m on March 1.
