World’s fastest man Usain Bolt is one of many athletes featured in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) ‘Stronger Together’ campaign.

The global campaign, released ahead of the Tokyo Olympic Games, celebrates athletes’ strength, resilience, and determination to bring hope, unity and inspiration to people around the world.

Other world-renowned athletes involved in the campaign include past, present and future Olympians Naomi Osaka, Andre Degrasse, Yusra Mardini and Nyjah Huston. Tony Hawk is also present, representing the skateboarding community as the sport enters its first-ever Olympic Games.

“They say running is a lonely sport. That when you run, you run alone. But when I run – I run for Trelawny; I run for Jamaica. Their beliefs run with me. Their spirits and their hopes run with me, and the more that join, the faster we became,” said Bolt in the video which juxtaposes the former athlete running through the streets with a group of children and clips from former races and celebrations.

On Twitter, he tweeted, “Run for something bigger than yourself, and the world runs with you”, along with a clip from the Olympic film.

IOC Digital Engagement and Marketing Director Christopher Carroll said the film reminds people what can be accomplished together.

“The Stronger Together campaign represents the strength of the human experience, reminding people around the world what we can accomplish when we’re united. The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will celebrate the spirit of the athletes of the world who have shown incredible resilience in their journey to Tokyo 2020,” he said.
