Port Authority welcomes Saga Cruise Lines to Port Antonio

The Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) welcomed the Saga Cruise Lines ship Quest for Adventure to Jamaica when it called at Port Antonio last week. This is the first call of the season for Port Antonio. The Quest for Adventure had previously called to Port Antonio when it was formerly known as Saga Pearl II.

The PAJ has been working with Saga Cruise Lines since 2002 with an initial meeting at their offices in Folkestone, United Kingdom. These discussions resulted in the first call to Jamaica by a cruise line vessel with The Saga Rose calling the Port of Montego Bay in 2005.

Whenever the opportunity arises Saga Cruise Lines has continuously included Jamaica on their winter Caribbean itineraries with Port Antonio being their preferred port of call. They have two planned calls to Port Antonio in January and February 2014.

A division of the Saga Group, Saga Cruises, also known as Saga Holidays, is a British-based cruise line. Only passengers of 50 years of age or older are allowed on-board Saga's vessels as they are designed specifically for the needs of this demographic of the cruise market.
