 Steak under shirt

1. Even with the various gadgets to detect theft, it seems these tough times are forcing more people into shoplifting. Shoppers in Kingston were floored when a man was caught recently with an expensive package of steak under his shirt. The sad part is the thing was bleeding even before he got to the door.

Love child

2. It has become a regular occurrence in Jamaica: the love child turning up at daddy's funeral. It happened recently again, sending the widow and siblings into shock and to add insult to injury, the outsider got a hefty cut of the family property. Some say a legal challenge is looming.

Corruption?

3. Some people say they are not surprised to hear of fraud among that exalted group. Seems the recruitment process is fraught with corruption, with politicians deciding in many cases who ought to serve. Just think about it: Who are politicians most likely to recommend?

Girlfriend drama

4. Expect more girlfriend drama as we celebrate some of our most loved musicians this month. The foreigner doesn't like the idea that she has got no recognition for her contribution - and the baby mamma is certain that she enjoyed "most-favoured status". Meanwhile, the widow is kicking back and enjoying all the benefits.

Wonderful perks

5. Speaking of benefits, there are wonderful perks to be gained by developing the right friendships. Some land lucrative contracts; others strike important land deals; and the lucky ones get to jet off to Las Vegas with all the trappings.
