McLeod missed his target

New national 110 metres record holder, Omar McLeod, has revealed that he fell short of his target at the National Stadium on Saturday night.

The 2016 Olympic champion who clocked 12.90 seconds to erase the 12.94 set by Hansle Parchment in 2014 said he had set his sights on 12.85 or faster at the JAAA National Senior Championships.

" Wow! I am very happy for this but my coach may not be pleased as the target was to run at least 12.85 . I am in great shape and definitely I will be looking for a world record in London," said McLeod who added that his next meet will be the Paris Diamond League on July 1. The 2017 IAAF World Championships will be held in London, August 4-13 

Finishing second on Saturday was University of Technology's Ronald Levy who crossed the line in 13.13, with Parchment third in 13.19. Schoolboy DeJour Russell of Calabar High was fourth in a personal best 13.32.
