Young Sunshine Girls off to winning start
Jamaica’s netball campaign got off to a winning start at the Central American (CAC) Games in San Salvador, El Salvador with a wire-to-wire victory over Caribbean team Barbados earlier today.
The young Sunshine Girls produced a dazzling display, registering a 62-34 victory on the back of a solid shooting performance from Amanda Pickney, who shot 94% (16 from 17) and Simone Gordon who shot 87% (27 from 31).
The Sunshine Girls will play their second fixture tomorrow against Cayman Islands starting at 3:30 p.m.
The Jamaicans are in Group A with the Cayman Islands, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and the Dominican Republic.
