#BudaQuest | Jamaica’s mixed relay team stopped at qualifying stage

Jamaica’s quartet of Demish Gaye, Malik James-King, Stacey-Ann Williams and Natoya Goule-Toppin failed to progress beyond the qualifying stage of the 4x400-metre mixed relays as action at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary began.
Competing in heat two at the National Athletics Centre, the Jamaicans could only manage to stop the clock in three minutes, 14.05 seconds for a fifth-place finish.
The time left them ninth overall, behind Germany, 3:13.25, and Ireland, 3:13.90.
The race was won by the Netherlands, who clocked 3:12:12.
The United States are the fastest of the qualifiers, speeding to 3:10:41 in their heat.
