Kingsley Cooper remembered as visionary leader and trailblazer

Businessman Kingsley Cooper is being hailed as a visionary leader and a trailblazer who made remarkable contributions to the nation.

News came yesterday that Cooper, the founder of Pulse Investments Limited, passed away.

He had reportedly been hospitalised in Florida.

He was 71.

In paying tribute, the Opposition People's National Party (PNP) described Cooper as a distinguished figure whose legacy will forever be cherished in Jamaica and beyond.

It said that he played a pivotal role in putting Jamaica on the global map through the promotion of culture, fashion, and entertainment.

His dedication to excellence and his commitment to nurturing and showcasing Jamaican talent have left an indelible mark on the industry, said the PNP.

“Kingsley Cooper was a beacon of Jamaican culture and creativity. His vision and dedication have left an indelible legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. We are deeply saddened by his loss, but we celebrate the immense contributions he has made to our nation,” remarked PNP president Mark Golding.

For her part, Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange said Cooper was a very patriotic and committed Jamaican who never hesitated whenever he was called on to serve his country.

“He served unconditionally and for these reasons and more he earned my love, appreciation and respect and that of many Jamaicans from all walks of life,” she said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

“He served for many years on the Entertainment Advisory Board which falls under my Ministry. My condolences to his family, relatives, friends and associates. May his soul rest in peace,” she added.
