It's no secret that when it comes to fashion, women thrive on novelty. A sassy, unique, and bold fashion statement should be the ultimate goal for all fashionistas.

With Kimandamisses a Jamaican clothing line, you will get all that you need. After a two-year hiatus, the talented designer Kimberly Duffus has returned to her love, giving you timeless, sophisticated and risquÈ styles.

For the past two years, the young designer retired her needle and sketch pad as she travelled the world as an air hostess in Qatar. But she told Flair, " Designing is what I love. It's like a fire inside that keeps going."

So Duffus keeps going and embraces her creative love gathering inspiration as she travels the Middle Eastern sky. She believes her international experience gives her a different perspective.

Even though Jamaica's fashion landscape has become extremely busy with a number of rising designers, Duffus is unshaken by the competition and confidently declares her power to stand the heat from her competitors.

UNPARALLELED PIECES

"I humbly believe the pieces I offer are unparalleled especially locally, as a result I already stand out. The world loves fast fashion and trends. My pieces are distinctive because they are timeless," she boasted.

Now, she is working on her craft creating more 'sophisticated pieces' and she is focusing on producing top-quality clothing that will make fashionistas the talk of the town. While her focus will be on the international market, her aim is to manufacture in Jamaica. In her travels she has learnt humility and to treat people as they wish to be treated and not to judge a person based on what they wear.

"I hope to be able to motivate people to always be their unique selves. To dress exactly how you wish to be treated means to be neat and tidy, wearing a properly fitted garment that compliments your particular body frame. Also, paying attention to details, making sure your clothes are mostly free of holes, wrinkles and stains," Duffus explained to Flair.

Her designs are available at Urbana Stryd Shop 11A 7th Avenue Plaza.
