Kedesha Campbell, the former personal assistant to Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who now heads the Programme Management Unit of the Constituency Development Fund in the Office of the Prime Minister has pledged support for the programme and the people of Jamaica.

News of Campbell’s appointment was first published in the Sunday Gleaner on May 13 following the receipt of a copy of the letter of her appointment by Holness.

At Tuesday's sitting of the CDF Committee of Parliament, Campbell was welcomed by Chairman Everald Warmington and members Floyd Green and James Robertson.

"I am committed to working with all Members of Parliament and to make Jamaica a better place. I want to impact the lives of communities and constituencies across the length and breadth of Jamaica. I am open, I am here. I'm willing to serve and work without fear or favour. I am guided by a procedure, and that I will do, and to make you all better in your constituencies so that the constituencies and the community can feel you as Members of Parliament,” she said following the process of approving projects submitted by members.

She also thanked her predecessor Moveta Munroe.

Robertson, in welcoming Campbell, reserved comment on criticisms that have emerged over her appointment.

"I do not wish at this time to say what is really on my mind because in 2007-2008 when an individual who performed well leading the CDF was appointed when the CDF began the individual, who was appointed at that time, a lot of us knew that person to be coming from somewhere else, and we worked with her. And I’d like to just indicate that I would say to all my colleagues, we are going to miss Miss Munroe but we are going to welcome you,” he told Campbell.
