Croatia have advanced to the FIFA World Cup final with a 2-1 over 1966 champions England in Moscow, Russia this afternoon.

England took an early lead through Kieran Trippier's fifth minute free kick but the Croats levelled the score through an Ivan Perisic's header in the 68th minute.

The game went to extra time and center forward Mario Mandzukic found the winner to ensure that his team meets France in Sunday morning's final.

Croatia's best ever showing in a FIFA World Cup competition was on their debut in 1998, where they went on to finish third.
