Western Bureau:

Faulkland FC and Wadadah FC will meet in today’s JFF Western Confederation Charley’s JB Rum Super League Mid-season final at Jarrett Park. Kick-off time is 6:30 p.m.

Wadadah, who had a disappointing run in the RSPL playoffs last year after failing to pick up a point, have since then undergone what can be considered a squad overhaul. Their team now includes quite a few schoolboys. The overhaul has paid dividends for the Mt Salem-based club, which topped Zone Two standings after the first round with 24 points from 10 games. This is four more than the much-talked-about Falmouth United.

UNBEATEN TEAM

The Daniel Ricketts-coached Wadadah will have a tough battle as they will be up against an in-form team in Faulkland, who are the only unbeaten team in the competition this season. They topped Zone One also with 24 points, which is seven more than Sandals South Coast FC, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.

The Gregory Palmer-led Faulkland will be looking to top scorer Lodrick Haughton (five goals) as well as St James High School’s Ewan Barton, who has netted three goals for the Catherine Hall-based team since his January transfer from Granville FC. His overall goal tally for the season is six. Wadadah, however, will be hoping that Kemario James, who has netted eight goals so far this season, can carry on his brilliant run of form.
