There’s no greater celebration these days than a sweet get together, and with the inaugural staging of the Jamaica Rum Festival only a few days away, the hard-working team decided to catch the frolicking fever by jumping on this social trend. On Monday night, specially invited guests and sponsors gathered at Chillin’ Serengeti at the Hope Zoo for the Jamaica Rum Festival’s official Pop-Up Party.

The festivities featured a taste of the flavourful food to savour on the upcoming big weekend as well as fresh and tasty cocktails to imbibe.

Representing each of its spirited partners, the intoxicating cocktails available at the pop-up party were specifically concocted by using game-changing brands. From Appleton Estate Rums’ Signature and Reserve Blend’s ‘Epic’, ‘Joy’s Cocktail’ and ‘X-Ale’ and Wray & Nephew’s ‘Ginger Wray’, ‘Wray Tastic’ and ‘Wray Daiquiri’. to Rum Fire’s ‘TNT - Trelawny N Ting’ Hampden Estate’s ‘Pine N Ginger’ and Monymusk’s signature drink, ‘Monymusk Special’ and ‘Whispering Breeze’.

Attendees were excited by the sweet, fruity, tangy, and spicy variety. CB Foods, the official purveyor of savoury bites for the Jamaica Rum Festival, joined gastronomic forces with Chillin’ Serengeti to deliver mouthwatering fanfare. Copperwood, Caribbean Passion, CB Chicken, and Homegrown orchestrated a symphony of dynamic decadence with jerked pork bites, jerked sausage slivers, barbecued chicken wings and herb roasted corn.

Other delectable dishes on the menu included curried goat, peppa shrimp, vegetable wontons, stamp and go, tostones, roti and for the dessert lovers, bread pudding, chocolate cake and sweet potato pudding.
