The day the school system failed me

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Flashback to the year of 2003. I got the best news any young man would want to hear–- I had passed my GSAT for my first choice (Knox College). I had mixed feelings like every teenager, because I was going to a new school and I would have to make friends for sure.

Fast-forward to the point in my education where everything becomes a mere recall of what was taught, and not what could be a possible scenario to give a more approved answer. I feel like the school system has failed a lot of the young persons in society by not testing everyone as they should.

I have come to the conclusion that the more challenging the situation is, the more the individual is likely to use critical-thinking skills to achieve the goals set.

I am looking for a change in the school system, do you feel the same?
