Stand up against catcalling louts
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I do agree with the commentary by Shawna Kay Williams-Pinnock on July 2, 2019, in The Gleaner on the issue of Jamaican men being disrespectful.
I have wondered about the morals of women who smile when rude comments are directed at them. I do not appreciate the attitudes of my colleagues who treat women like they are meat.
IGNORING ATTENTION
I hear the hurtful, demeaning words that follow once the women ignore their requests or attention.
Shawna Kaye, I thank you. I love your approach. At least you are a woman of dignity who has not bowed to Baal.
I would like to organise a campaign against these negative, crude behaviours. Let’s put up signs, placards, posters, do everything to fight against this culture. Respect our girls, respect our women.
