Apologies for ‘Babylon’ blunder

Published:Friday | February 14, 2020 | 12:14 AM

THE EDITOR, Madam:

Re The Gleaner article ‘A date with ‘Babylon – Reggae Films in the Park opens hearts, minds and mouths’ about the screening of the film Babylon in the Reggae Films in the Park on Friday, February 7, I apologise unreservedly for all offence caused by the ‘bad words’ used by characters in the film story, as this went against the policy for events in Emancipation Park, where children are often present.

The fault is entirely mine, as the person responsible for selecting what was otherwise a memorable film that should have been reserved for ‘Adults Only’. I apologise fully for any offence caused to those who viewed the film, and assure the public that dialogue in all future films in the series will be carefully screened and all possible offensive words will be eliminated before public showing.
