Are you ready for the Jamaica Rum Festival 2020? Well, exciting mixes are brewing as we draw closer to the event’s second staging. Rum lovers, producers, connoisseurs and purveyors will converge at Hope Gardens to feast and sip on an epic experience for the palate. This year, the old-fashioned way of making rum will have a new outlook as persons embark on a thrilling tour from cane to cocktail.

Sponsors Worthy Park Estate and Rum-Bar have returned to the line-up, and are set to thrill patrons with an array of activities, including a virtual rum tour, rum seminars, giveaways and of course, rum!

The entire portfolio of Worthy Park Estate and Rum-Bar Rums will be on fabulous display for your indulgence, but since the festival is two days away, the dynamic duo has shared special cocktails made to keep you cool and refreshed, as you enjoy the days’ activities.

The ‘Rum-Barjito’ is a fresh twist to the traditional mojito cocktail, the Rum-Barito boasts a combination of sweet, citrus and mint flavours, intent on complementing Rum-Bar’s Overproof Rum to give you that extra oomph. So, be sure to stop by their booth for this feature drink.

While the Worthy Old Fashioned is a clean and neat combo, guaranteed to please with smooth sophistication. It does a phenomenal job in showcasing the versatility of the Worthy Park Estate Rum.

Feature JRF Cocktail:

Rum-Barjito

Ingredients

3 mint sprigs

1 ½ ounce simple syrup

½ ounce fresh lime juice

1 ounce Rum-Bar

Overproof Rum

Club Soda

Lime wedge

Direction: Muddle mint and combine ingredients over ice. Garnish with lime wedge.

 

Worthy’s Old Fashioned

Ingredients

2 ounces Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve Rum

1/2 ounce simple syrup

2 dashes Angostura bitters

 

Direction: Stir ingredients together in a rock glass.
