Rayven Amani and Mission Driven Band for Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival

Rayven Amani and Mission Driven Band will make their big stage debut on the return of the internationally renowned Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, scheduled for March 4 - 6, 2021.

The band was among several which participated in the Band Quest contest, held by organisers to give upcoming acts an opportunity to showcase their talent by earning a chance to perform on the event through fans who voted for them.

Recording artiste and creative producer Rayven Amani known, for her brainchild Jamaica’s Best School Band, a high-school stage band competition featuring schools from across the island, formed her band in 2016. They have since performed on shows like Womanbition, Gungo Walk Festiva and Dubschool.

The band comprises keyboard players Jalon Higgins and Dean Mitchell, who is also a music teacher at Pembroke Hall High School; bass player Travis French and drummer Christopher ‘Juica Drumz’ Henry, who are both students at Edna Manley College, past students of Alpha Boy’s, saxophonist Daniel ‘Richie Sax’ Richards and trombonist Jordan Moncrieffe; guitarist Keith Wilson, and supporting vocalist Juvell ‘Annaje’ McKenzie.

As a solo artiste, Rayven Amani has performed at the Dennis Brown Tribute concerts in 2019 and 2020.
