NORTH SOUND, Antigua, (CMC):

New Zealand Women defeated West Indies Women via the ‘super-over’ in the fourth Twenty20 International of the five-match series at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua yesterday.

New Zealand first posted 111 for four off their 20 overs thanks to Amelia Kerr’s 49 not out against the bowling of Afy Fletcher, 2-16.

The West Indies struggled with the low total inching closer and closer to end on 111 for nine from their at-bat with Chedean Nation doing the most damage with 23 against the bowling of Sophie Devine, 3-19, and Jess Kerr, 2-13.

In the super over, West Indies, batting first this time, scored 15 courtesy of Hayley Matthews, three from three deliveries, and Natasha McLean, six from three.

Needing 16 to win, Devine never left anything to chance, scoring 17 runs all on her own, striking the final delivery for six.
