Scotiabank cashless branch is customer-unfriendly

THE EDITOR, Madam:

As a small business owner and operator who does my banking at the Linstead branch of Scotiabank, it has been a struggle to get satisfactory service there. With the branch not accepting any cash deposits, the customers are either forced to deposit money at other banking institutions or other branches of the bank, or depend on courier services to make sure the deposits are made in a timely manner.

None of these options works for us. My deposits are consistently taking three or more working days to be credited to my account, which can be detrimental to any business’ ability to meet its financial obligations.

However, the lack of response from the staff is worrying and leaves a lot to be desired. Not only are the customer services staff unable to offer any solutions, clarity or assistance, but their supervisors are also seemingly unable to provide any reasonable insight as to what could be the reason for the delays.

As devastating as these events are to my business and myself, I can only hope that Scotiabank can get its act together and provide satisfactory services to its customers.
