Bahamas Shaunae Miller-Uibo celebrates winning the women's 400 metres at the World Athletics Championships at Hayward Field in Oregon, United States of America (USA) in July.

Reigning two-time Olympic 400 metres champion, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, is pregnant.

Miller-Uibo disclosed on social media today with her husband, Maicel Uibo, the 2019 World Championships silver medallist in the decathlon for Estonia.

“New Year, New Blessings, we can’t wait to meet our little bundle of joy,” Miller-Uibo said.

Miller-Uibo captured the 400 metres at the Rio Olympics in Brazil in 2016. She repeated the feat at the next edition, which was staged in Tokyo, Japan and delayed by a year to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 28-year-old Miller-Uibo followed that by winning her first indoor and outdoor titles last year.
