Retired Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington has revealed that he heard like the rest of the country through a public broadcast that the government would green light the extradition request for drug kingpin Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.

The public broadcast by then Prime minister Bruce Golding was made on May 17, 2010.

Ellington told the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry that by the following day the police had received a warrant for Coke's arrest.
