National Mathematics Exposition

Students play interactive mathematics-based games at the National Mathematics Exposition, held at The University of the West Indies, Mona, on Thursday. At the launch of National Mathematics Week on Monday, held at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, St Andrew, Education Minister Ruel Reid said for the 2016 to 2017 academic year, the grade four pass rate in mathematics moved from 60 per cent to 67 per cent; while in the Grade Six Achievement Test, the pass rate increased from 59 per cent to 63 per cent; and for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate, the pass rate improved from 49 per cent to 52 per cent.
